i80 Sports Weekly MLS "Toll Booth" Picks

Hello again for another edition of the i80 Sports MLS Toll Booth. Last week I gave 4 picks- one for each MLS game in the shortened week- and three paid out for a total of over 4.1 units.

Here is an easy chart with each pick, showing exactly how many units were wagered and earned. This season we sit at +37.25 units through the course of 23 articles. Let's get to this week's picks!

Match- Columbus Crew host Inter Miami

Pick- Columbus -135

Something special happened in Columbus this weekend as the USMNT beat Costa Rica in a World Cup Qualifying match. Columbus, being known as one of the MLS originals and a favorite host town for the US teams, had fans, media, and all the spectacle you would expect from the newly opened Lower.com field.

This week, the Crew play a home game just three days later and will face an Inter Miami team that has given up- losing 5 straight, including two games to Red Bull New York. They have not scored in their last 3 matches and have scored a league-low 25 goals in 28 games this season.

Key to the Match-

Gyasi Zardes is back from his national team call-up while only playing 91 minutes since October 3rd. This is almost like a mini-break for a player who has been relied on heavily by club and country in the past.

Part of the Crew’s turnaround from a late summer slump involved a two game span where Zardes had three goals- and if he can find the new Columbus should have an easy day in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.

Match- Cincinnati FC host Orlando City

Pick- Orlando City +130

Cincinnati is 5 points behind every other team in the league as they host an Orlando team that still has a chance to move up to the second seed in the east. They WILL win the wooden spoon again this year and Austin and Toronto will look to pull another game forward on them (they all have home games this weekend).

Orlando won their first matchup with Cincinnati back in May with a 3-0 score and goals by Akindele, Mueller, and Benji Michel. This game could look much the same with most of the Orlando squad returning and the ADDITION of Daryl Dike.

Key to the Match-

Orlando is better in every phase and the +130 line is disrespectful- so take advantage! Of the many Cincinnati shortcomings, they are terrible against skilled players and defending set pieces. Enter Nani.

Game- Houston Dynamo host Seattle Sounders

Pick- Seattle Sounders +185

We picked Seattle two weeks ago in a tough matchup- on the road against Sporting KC. Seattle picked up three points and we won +260 and never turned back.

This week, the disrespect is out again this time in Houston, a historically good home team that is only 5-6-3 at home this season. More importantly, the Dynamo have allowed 45 goals in 29 games while scoring only 33 of their own.

Seattle will be without the services of Lodeiro, possibly the Roldans, and maybe even Raul Ruidiaz. However, I believe Will Bruin and Freddy Montero will still bring the head and find a result this week in Texas.

Key to the Match-

Part of the downfall of Houston this year is the regression of Tim Parker and the reliance on age- Maynor Figuroa, Darwin Quintero, Fafa Picault.

The Houston Dynamo are 4th in MLS in lowest pass competition percentage, sitting at around 77.1%. Unfortunately for them, they will not be able to recover from turnovers unscathed against Seattle. The Sounders will take advantage with a breakaway goal or an early “denial” card situation and fly home with an easy win.
