2023 MLS Week 11 Best Bets + Sportsbook Picks

Welcome back to another edition of i80 Sports Toll booth- the best place on the web for Major League Soccer Sportsbook Picks!

It was a tough week for MLS bettors in the tenth week of MLS action. Here are last article's results, for accountability. Remember- you can see us LIVE each week- by subscribing to our YouTube channel (links atop the page). Let's get into week 11 Major League Soccer action.

Match- Charlotte FC hosts New York City FC
Pick- NYCFC +170

Betting on NYCFC did not work out last week, but this week I find myself going right back to that well. Before last week, NYCFC was unbeaten in 4 and had an offense that seemed primed for a strong spring run. Then, in a week that I can only describe as peculiar, they were blanked by Toronto FC.

This week, NYCFC heads over to face Charlotte FC who currently sits at 2-3-5. Charlotte has allowed 19 goals this season, most in MLS, and could be the get-right squad NYCFC needs to get back on track.

Key to the Match-

Historically, Charlotte has been fantastic against NYCFC, but the past is the past. Charlotte are averaging only 1 point per game at home this season; they just can't keep up with NYCFC.

Getting more specific, Charlotte has been weak at the fullback position, and NYCFC has been strong on the wings. Look for Magno, Pelligrini, and Periera to take advantage of Byrne and Afful early and often- taking advantage of Charlotte’s disorganized backline.

Match- Houston Dynamo host Real Salt Lake
Pick- Houston Dynamo +100

The Houston Dynamo are a perfect 4-0 at home this season, and this week they host Real Salt Lake- a team who have struggled all season long. Houston have outscored their opponents 7-0 this season, being quite literally perfect.

Real Salt Lake have been up and down, but have a big job cut out for them this week. Making a tough matchup worse, their injury report has 6 questionable players, one suspension, and 3 players listed as “out.”

Key to the Match-

Dynamo, once again, will rule the midfield here. With RSL missing the suspended Pablo Ruiz and the injured Jasper Loffelsend, will they rely on Ojeda and Caldwell (??) against Artur, Herrera, and Carrasquilla?

No thanks. Dynamo by a landslide.

Match- Seattle Sounders host Sporting KC
Pick- Seattle Sounders -150

The best team in the West will host the worst team in the west this week. The odds, at -150 are not great, but I don’t want to overthink this.

Seattle is 6-2-2- with a +10 goal differential, while Sporting KC is 0-3-7 with a -12 differential. This should be as close to a sure thing as we see in professional sports.

Key to the Match-

Good teams find a way to win against poor opponents.

Fin.

Match- Red Bull New York host Philadelphia Union
Pick- Under 2.5 Goals -130

This matchup is between two recent defensive powerhouses. As bad as RBNY has been this season, they are still allowing only 1 goal more than first place New England. Combined, RBNY and Philly have scored 21 goals and allowed 23 in a combined 19 matches. That averages just 2.3 total goals per game, under our prop of 2.5 goals.

Digging even deeper, RBNY is 1-6-3 this season, with offensive woes from past seasons compounding into a terrible 2023 start. Philly, sitting at 3-2-4, was prioritizing Champion’s League and putting MLS on the early season backburner.

Key to the Match-

Philadelphia lost 3-0 to LAFC earlier this week, and started a majority of their starting lineup. They may have some tired legs and a heavily rotated squad. RBNY, on the other hand, will be without Luquinhas and Lewis Morgan, and again relying on Burke and Manoel up top.

Take. The. Under.
